The Davidson County AID program also provides a gateway for low income individuals and families to gain financial literacy and permanently change behaviors that lead to economic emergencies. In addition, employable individuals whose income is at or below 100% of the federal poverty level will also be evaluated for enrollment in our Economic Opportunity Initiative, funded by the Community Services Block Grant, which we administer in Davidson County (this initiative is a long-term program—up to three years—which seeks to move families permanently above the federal poverty guide by providing intensive case management services).
