The Prayer Shawl Ministry at FUMC is a prayerful and powerful ministry. The purpose is to knit shawls for those suffering due to illness, grief, separation, depression or other difficulty. They are also for the commemoration of the love, friendship and caring of the church upon a birth, marriage, anniversary or other special occasions. The group meets to knit and pray together as they seek to extend the warmth of God’s love and grace through the gift of a hand knitted shawl.
When a prayer request is made, the ministers are notified and with permission from the family, the request for prayer and/or praise report is released to those who have requested to participate with the Prayer Warrior Email Group. Requests are shared in the morning and again in the afternoon.
Offered in the fall, winter and spring each year.
